The Region of Murcia has gathered today leading women managers and entrepreneurs in the day 'Women Leaders and Entrepreneurs', a space for inspiration and learning where they have shared experiences, challenges and opportunities in the world of female entrepreneurship. Organized by the Department of Social Policy, Families and Equality together with the Catholic University San Antonio of Murcia (UCAM), this event is part of the International Chair of Corporate Social Responsibility.
During the meeting, the speakers shared their personal and professional trajectories, highlighting how entrepreneurship has been a key tool for their development, boosting their talent and strengthening their leadership. The participants also reflected on the importance of balancing personal and professional life, offering practical advice to advance in both areas without giving up their aspirations.
The Councilor for Social Policy, Families and Equality, Conchita Ruiz, was in charge of closing the event, stressing that "any goal is achievable if you believe in yourself and persevere, despite the obstacles". She also stressed the importance of these initiatives to create support networks among women entrepreneurs and those seeking guidance to materialize their ideas. In this line, she recalled that the regional government launched the 'Mujer Lidera' strategy, which has already benefited nearly 300 women with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship and access to positions of responsibility.
Ruiz also highlighted the collaboration with entities such as OMEP, AMEP, Anaede and Colabora Mujer, as well as with academic institutions such as UCAM, to develop projects that enhance female talent and leadership. The International Chair of Corporate Social Responsibility, promoted by UCAM in collaboration with the Community, plays a key role in this process, offering training, research and dissemination on the role of women in the professional sphere.
The event also highlighted the evolution of female entrepreneurship in the Region of Murcia, which has experienced a 5% growth in recent years, as well as a 2% increase in the presence of women in management roles and boards of directors, placing it in line with the national average.
"There are more and more women who serve as references for others, generating a network of inspiration and support that drives female leadership," said Ruiz.
Among the participants were professional coach Encarna Teruel, Sanitas Murcia manager Trinidad Guía, NOMA Abogados co-founders Leonor Montiel, Indre Proskinaite and María Marco, director of the digital magazine 'Business Women' Amanda Equino and content creator Oriana Lares.
With initiatives like this, the Region of Murcia reaffirms its commitment to equal opportunities and the promotion of female leadership, consolidating a more inclusive and diverse entrepreneurship ecosystem.
